Founders celebrated as Cox and Company Ltd turns 100 [Saint Lucia]
Prime Minister Philip J. Pierre headed a list of government dignitaries and luminaries from the business and diplomatic community specially invited to join the management and staff of Cox and Company Limited as they marked the 100th anniversary of its establishment.
The family-owned business was launched in 1926 by Clive and Hettie Beaubrun. It began its journey as a small retail shop and over 100 years became legendary as the oldest family-owned business enterprise in Saint Lucia.
It grew from a small « Mom and Pop » style business into a diversified enterprise.
The core services offered by Cox and Company include port agency services, cargo handling, freight brokerage, container storage, and mega-yacht support.
They are also the agents for a regional ferry service operated as L’Express des Isles, connecting Saint Lucia to Martinique, Dominica, and Guadeloupe.
Cox and Company is also a leading tour operator providing land and sea excursions, custom itineraries, concierge care, and cruise ship ground support.
Today Cox and Company Ltd is being managed by the third generation of the Beaubrun family with Matthew Beaubrun, Catherine Cooper and Siobhan Beaubrun helming the organisation.
It was also an evening to celebrate long serving staff some serving the company for close to 45 years.
