Jamaica’s bid to reach the final round of the 2027 FIBA Basketball World Cup Americas Qualifiers came to an end on Monday night after a 116-78 defeat to regional powerhouse Canada in Ontario.
Jamaica’s Jam Rockerz entered the game holding the final qualifying spot in Group B and knew that only a victory, combined with favourable results elsewhere, would keep alive their hopes of reaching the final qualifying round for the first time.
However, the star-studded Canadian team, featuring seven NBA players, including two-time NBA MVP Shai Gilgeous-Alexander, proved too strong.
