Pintard on PM Davis: “We Believe He Is Concerned, He Sounds Like a Defense Attorney”
Free National Movement Leader Michael Pintard has accused the Prime Minister of “sounding like a defense attorney” when it comes to his recent comments about DEA investigations in The Bahamas.
Pintard was responding to the Prime Minister telling reporters yesterday that the government does not fear the DEA’s investigations, but wants the proper process followed.
The diplomatic dispute stems from U.S. court documents detailing a three-year undercover narcotics investigation in The Bahamas connected to the arrest of Jonathan Eric Gardiner.
Bahamian Ambassador to the U.S., Wendall Jones, reportedly told American officials in a meeting last week that the Bahamian government is concerned, while Attorney General Wayne Munroe has accused the DEA operatives of essentially breaching the law.
The United States Ambassador to The Bahamas, Herschel Walker, has said the U.S. can no longer accept the flow of drugs into its shores. His comments come after it was revealed that the Bahamian government is concerned about the issue.
Pintard said that, with the diplomatic dispute ongoing, he believes the Prime Minister and his administration are concerned.
