PM Arrives In New York For UN General Assembly
Prime Minister Kamla Persad-Bissessar SC has arrived in New York to lead Trinidad and Tobago’s delegation at the 81st Session of the United Nations General Assembly.
Global leaders are gathering for the high-level week to discuss some of the most pressing issues facing the international community, with the General Debate scheduled to begin on September 22nd.
Over the course of the week, the delegation is expected to participate in a series of high-level multilateral and bilateral engagements, with discussions focusing on climate resilience, sustainable development, regional security and international cooperation.
The meetings will provide an opportunity for Trinidad and Tobago to contribute to key global conversations while highlighting issues of importance to small island developing states.
The Prime Minister is also expected to engage with fellow Heads of Government, senior United Nations officials and international stakeholders as part of efforts to enhance the country’s presence on the global stage and promote its development agenda.
