RBDF Recovers 40 Packages of Suspected Cocaine Near Acklins
Defence Force officials say an alert from US partners on Thursday led to the eventual seizure of the drugs.
RBDF Public Relations Officer Lt. Darius Adams says on October 15th the HMBS Kamalaee was dispatched to investigate the suspected drug-smuggling vessel on Castle Island, near Acklins.
The search uncovered 40 packages of a white powdery substance suspected to be cocaine.
Since the discovery the vessel has continued boarding and search operations in the Acklins and Crooked Island areas before returning to Coral Harbour Base today.
