The Chantwell: Xhaiden Darius - Calypso Will Survive
When you share a birthday with the Grandmaster himself, Lord Kitchener, singing calypso may be something that comes naturally!
He opened our Calypso History Month series, and now Xhaiden Darius returns to close The Chantwell with a message of hope for the future of the artform.
Performing Calypso Will Survive, penned by the legendary King Luta, Xhaiden delivers the song that earned him the 2025 Junior Calypso Monarch title.
Its message is simple but powerful: as long as he is alive, calypso will survive!
The future of kaiso is in good hands.
