The Division of Public Infrastructure and Transportation is modernising its operations with the addition of two new tractors to its mechanical fleet.
Secretary Nathisha Charles-Pantin and Mechanical Services Department officials unveiled the new machinery, which is set to handle brush-cutting and clearing along the highway. This approach will allow manual maintenance crews to redirect their efforts toward more remote areas, allowing for more grounds to be covered. Beyond infrastructure, officials described the move as a vital step toward boosting island productivity, noting that the tractors will not only maintain roadways but also assist URP farming operations with adaptable agricultural gear
The new equipment is expected to hit major roadways in the coming weeks as DPIT rolls out its updated maintenance schedule.
