La llama olímpica de los Juegos de París 2024 ha llegado a territorio francés, en el puerto de Marsella, en una ceremonia encabezada por el presidente, Emmanuel Macron, a la que han asistido 150.000 personas. Una fiesta con fuertes medidas de seguridad. Durante toda la jornada el velero Belem, que había recogido el fuego olímpico doce días antes en el Pireo, paseó sus tres mástiles por las costas marsellesas antes de entrar en medio de la ovación generalizada en el Viejo Puerto de la segunda ciudad del país. A bordo del velero, el campeón olímpico de natación Florent Manaudou pasó el fuego olímpico que había viajado en un candil hasta una de las antorchas por las que hará el recorrido hasta París. Un espectáculo pirotécnico acompañó los últimos metros del barco en el puerto, mientras la orquesta filarmónica de la ciudad tocaba las notas de la sintonía que acompañará a las pruebas olímpicas durante los Juegos y sonaba La Marsellesa cantada por el tenor Naestro. Una vez acostó el barco, Manaudou descendió con la antorcha en sus manos y dio el primer relevo a la atleta paralímpica Nantenin Keïta, la cual se la pasó al rapero Jul, que fue el encargado de encender el pebetero que marca la llegada del fuego olímpico, encendido el pasado 16 de abril en Olimpia. La situación en Gaza continúa siendo catastrófica. Estados Unidos ha incrementado la presión sobre Netanyahu y reconoce que, por primera vez, ha frenado un envío de bombas en Israel. Mientras, la agencia de la ONU para los refugiados palestinos, UNRWA ha advertido que no está llegando ayuda humanitaria a la Franja de Gaza. Israel tiene bloqueada toda entrada de ayuda a la franja. El cierre del paso fronterizo de Ráfah está afectando a la población civil, que está atrapada en el territorio sin agua, sin comida y sin medicinas. La situación es insostenible.
