INSURANCE POLICY [14TH AUGUST 2025] – Food security is vital for small island states caught in the middle of a global trade war. Being in midway in the 2025 hurricane season, the agricultural sector is once again reminded of its vulnerability to storms. The rollout of insurance policies for plantain and banana farmers marks the first step in a broader initiative aimed at encouraging farmers to protect their crops and livelihoods against natural disasters and other risks, reducing their dependence on government support in times of crisis.
