INVESTIGATIONS ONGOING [20TH AUGUST 2026] – The Commissioner of Police is defending the Royal Saint Lucia Police Force’s approach to investigations, following a High Court ruling awarding EC$75,000 in damages to the mother of a man who died in police custody. The ruling cited the Force’s failure to complete investigations more than a decade after a Coroner’s Inquest. At a Wednesday police conference, Commissioner Verne Garde cautioned against drawing conclusions on matters that remain under review. Cianna Dalsan reports.
