US Official Hails T&T’s Role In Shield Of The Americas
Assistant Secretary of State for Western Hemisphere Affairs in the United States, Juan Pablo Segura, has commended Trinidad and Tobago for being the first Shield of Americas nation to join the US in designating 25 criminal organisations as foreign terrorist organisations.
Last **Tuesday**, Prime Minister Kamla Persad-Bissessar attended the US-hosted Shield of the Americas Meeting, where US President Donald Trump and Secretary of State Marco Rubio addressed leaders on the margins of the 81st United Nations General Assembly.
In a social media post on X, Mr Segura said this historic step significantly advances the shared mission to confront the scourge of narco-terrorism **that is** poisoning communities.
He described the latest advancement as ‘Another major step for the Shield of the Americas.’
