Twenty one Opposition Youth from Namutumba District in Busoga sub region have joined the National Resistance Movement. The Youth who formerly belonged to the National Unity Platform cite lack of strategy and ideology in their former Party. They were led by former NUP Coordinator Namutumba District Dabada Yusuf who accused NUP of not taking a clear stand against same sex relationships.

The Member of Parliament for Nyando constituency Jared Okelo together with his Matayos Counterpart Geoffrey Makokha Odanga have visited Kakamega NCPB depot on a fact-finding mission on the alleged distribution of substandard fertiliser.

County governments in the Republic are going to employ new doctors to attend to patients in hospitals who have been affected largely by the ongoing doctor's strike.

The parliamentary committee on agriculture continued with its fact-finding mission with tours in North Rift and Western region counties in the quest to compile a report surrounding the distribution of fake fertilizer. The committee visited Kakamega, Trans-Nzoia and Uasin Gishu counties. The committee says individuals mentioned in the distribution of the fake fertilizer must account for losses incurred by farmers, compensate them and face the full force of the law.

قال السفير الفرنسي السابق لدى الجزائر كزافيي دريانكور، إن بلاده تخطط بالفعل للاعتراف بالسيادة المغربية على الصحراء، مشيرا إلى أن "الرئيس الفرنسي إيمانويل ماكرون سيقوم بزيارة إلى المغرب ستحمل توصيف زيارة دولة لأول مرة". وجاءت تصريحات كزافيي دريانكور خلال مشاركته في برنامج Points de Vue الذي تبثه صحيفة "لوفيغارو" عبر منصاتها. وأشار الدبلوماسي الفرنسي إلى أن باريس الآن مخيرة بين الدخول في صدام مع الجزائريين في حال اعترافها بمغربية الصحراء، أو تعويض الجزائر عن هذا التقارب مع الرباط من خلال امتيازات جديدة، ورغم إقراره بأنه الوضع معقد إلا أنه شدد على أن دعم سيادة المغرب على الصحراء أصبحا "جزءا من الحقائق". وقال دريانكور إن على الرئيس ماكرون التوجه إلى المغرب في زيارة دولة، ستكون هي الأولى من نوعها، لأن الزيارة التي قام بها بعد انتخابه لأول مرة في يونيو من عام 2017 كانت زيارة عمل ورحلة ذات طابع ودي، مبرزا أنه أصبح يعي حاليا أهمية المغرب بالنسبة لفرنسا، مبرزا أن باريس لديها مصالح أكبر مع المملكة مقارنة بالجزائر، خصوصا على المستوى الاقتصادي. أوضح السفير الفرنسي السابق في الجزائر، أن هذه الأخيرة اختارت الشراكة مع بلدان أخرى، مثل الصين وتركيا وألمانيا على حساب فرنسا، وباريس ترغب الآن في إصلاح العلاقات مع "شريك يلعب دورا مهما في إفريقيا"، مضيفا أن رئيس الجمهورية خلص إلى أن جهوده تجاه الجزائر لم تسفر عن نتائج كبيرة. ونبه دريانكور إلى الاختلاف الحاصل في منظور كل من المغاربة والجزائريين تجاه فرنسا، ففي الجزائر "هناك استياء تاريخي" يفسره بأن بلاده كانت تحتل الأراضي الجزائرية وتعتبرها جزءا من الجمهوية، في حين ما كان يربطها بالمغرب هو وثيقة الحماية، في ظل وجود سلطان للبلاد على الدوام، لذا فإن "الأمر مختلف تماما".
