The Assistant Commissioner Clinical Services at the Ministry of Health Dr Rony Bahatungire has revealed that country is in deficit of specialized Fistula surgeons in the country. Dr Bahatungire revealed this during media briefing in preparations to commemorate the international Day to Eliminate Obstetric Fistula to be held on 29th May 2024. The Day highlights the aims at raising awareness about causes, treatment and prevention of obstetric fistula and also strengthens all levels of health service delivery on maternal and new born health.

Following complains from public on how persons are always selected to be awarded government medals, this prompted the Office of the President to embark on an outreach program on sensitized the public on how these medals are rewarded. The team which has now spent two days in Teso Subregion, sensitized the people on the transparency of this program is led by Hajat Saminah Malole, the Chancellor of the Presidential Awards Committee.

The Atomic Energy Council's management and staff have conducted a visit to the ongoing operations at the Kingfisher Oil fields with the primary aim of assessing and monitoring the peaceful application of nuclear energy technology. In addition to this, the council sought to establish radiation safety measures, particularly focusing on areas where radioactive sources are utilized in the oil extraction process. During their assessment, the team noted the presence of radiation safety officers and the existence of secure storage facilities for radioactive materials at the drilling site.

The rising cases of school dropouts in Kabale Municipality have left leaders concerned and calling for swift interventions to curb the problem. As the clock ticks to the start of the 2024 Housing and Population Census at midnight, the floating population which includes street families and motorists driving up-country and those traveling up-country will be the first group to be counted. The Minister for Information and National Guidance, Chris Baryomunsi, has asked Ugandans to adhere to the census exercise guidelines by giving right and correct answers to enumerators.
