Social inclusion, especially for women with disabilities, is a key pillar for the Government of Trinidad and Tobago. Minister of Social Development and Family Services, Donna Cox, says just as international interests emphasise the rights of those who have disabilities, so too does Trinidad and Tobago. Her Ministry is working for them to manage and control their health and well-being. The Minister says legislation has been drafted - the Trinidad and Tobago Disabilities Bill. It has been distributed for comment from people with disabilities as well as a wide array of organisations including 18 Ministries, the Equal Opportunities Commission, the Law Association, and NGOs. Minister Cox points out that though we are all different, each and every one has a contribution that adds worth to life, including those with disabilities.
