Amsterdam: After police crackdown, what’s next for UvA’s Gaza protesters?

University students gathered in Amsterdam's Vondelpark, many of whom protested against their university's perceived complicity in Israel's war on Gaza. They described feeling unsafe and unheard by the University of Amsterdam (UvA). Recent protests resulted in injuries, and students' demands to sever ties with Israeli universities remain unmet. The university has estimated losses of up to $1.6m. Amnesty International has cited inflammatory social media posts from Dutch politicians like Geert Wilders for escalating tensions, highlighting a broader trend of far-right support in the Netherlands. Despite these challenges, students are determined to continue their protests. Al Jazeera’s Step Vaessen reports from Amesterdam.
