Organisers of the Caribbean Premier League have lost millions of US dollars in revenue over the last decade. This was revealed by the CEO of the CPL Pete Russell as he addressed officials and various stakeholders on day two of the CARICOM Regional Cricket Conference titled "Reinvigorating West Indies Cricket" being held in Trinidad and Tobago. Russell also says each year it takes approximately 25 million US dollars to run the CPL with no financial burden placed on Cricket West Indies. He made the comment against the backdrop that government leaders have been urging both parties to renegotiate the contract for the tournament, which stands at 50 years.
