Five Israeli soldiers have been killed in Gaza, the military says, in one of the deadliest incidents of its kind since the war began in October. Israeli media say the troops were killed when they were mistakenly hit by Israeli tank fire on Wednesday, with the military confirming they were killed "as a result of fire by our forces". It happened in Jabalia in northern Gaza, where Israeli forces are battling Hamas fighters. Tens of thousands of Palestinians have fled the fighting and bombardment.
