Labour urges Israel and Iran to show 'restraint' | Israel-Iran tensions

Labour has urged both Israel and Iran to show "restraint" following an overnight attack by Israel on an Iranian city. "I think it is a really concerning moment for peace and security in the Middle East," said shadow housing minister Matthew Pennycook. "Labour would urge all sides to show restraint and to de-escalate the situation because the real risk of a full-scale war in the region is there, and all sides need to step back." US sources told NBC news in America that Israel carried out a strike on Iran overnight. It follows an Iranian attack on Israel over the weekend which was in response to a strike on Iran's consulate in Damascus.
