The Ministry of Water and Environment, in collaboration with the local governments of Arua District and Arua City, along with RICE West Nile, has launched a two-year project to intensify the protection of River Enyau from human interference. The Enyau, with its source at the border with the Democratic Republic of Congo in Vurra, is the longest river in West Nile. However, its state is continuously deteriorating due to human activities that contribute to climate change and its negative consequences. This project, titled "Reducing Climate Change Vulnerability of Local Communities to Climate Change Through Ecosystem-based Adaptation of Wetland and Forest," is funded by the United Nations Environment Programme. .
