MOF Responds To Pre Action Protocol Letter

Prime Minister Ad Interim Colm Imbert has responded to the pre-action protocol letter issued by Auditor General Jaiwantie Ramdass within the stipulated deadline given. Attorneys representing Ms. Ramdass issued the pre-action protocol letter to Mr. Imbert, retired Justice David Harris, and David Benjamin, calling for the investigation into the understatement of revenue for the Financial Year 2023 and related matters to be cancelled or recalled. Responding via Attorneys MG Daly and Partners, Mr. Imbert denies the allegations that he launched an unfounded and malicious attack on Ms. Ramdass and caused the Investigation to be undertaken in order to distance himself from the said fiasco and misfortune. The response noted that it is the Cabinet which approved the appointment of the Investigation Team and they are not aware of any basis upon which Ms. Ramdass will be precluded from making any submissions. The letter said it is to be expected that Ms. Ramdass will have full opportunity to submit to the Investigation Team all of the matters raised with respect to the Minister of Finance.
