Renewed partnership between Liberia and Barbados

If all goes according to plan, a Museum and Community Centre aimed at preserving the legacy of the 346 emigrants from Barbados to Liberia should be opened next year. It is the Brig Cora House in the township of Crozierville, Liberia. The completion date for the building is listed as Founders Day, May 10, 2025, which coincides with the 160th anniversary of the arrival of the Brig Cora. Renowned Liberian academic, Professor Dr. Ophelia Inez Weeks, shared details about the project this morning during a farewell service at the James Street Methodist Church. In his speech, the Minister in the Ministry of Economic Affairs, Senator Chad Blackman, thanked all who made the Sankofa Pilgrimage a reality noting the past week was productive and rewarding.
