Singapore will spend another S$1 billion over the next decade to make neighbourhoods safer and more convenient for walking and commuting. This includes making infrastructure more suitable for young families and the elderly. The Transport Ministry hopes to encourage more people to turn to sustainable forms of getting around, and make neighbourhoods more liveable. The upgrades will be rolled out to all HDB towns and some private estates with high traffic by 2030. Claudia Lim reports.
