Southeast Asia more prone to turbulence, says analyst

Extreme turbulence hit Singapore Airlines (SIA) flight SQ321 from London to Singapore on Tuesday (May 21). A 73-year-old died of a suspected heart attack and scores of passengers and crew were injured. The incident highlighted the potential dangers of turbulence. Mr Leithen Francis, managing director of Francis & Low, a marketing agency that specialises in aviation, tells CNA’s Asia First why Southeast Asia is more susceptible to turbulence, and if climate change could worsen its occurrence.
