St Lucian Society Responds To Last Week`s Revelation Regarding The Unemployment Rate On Island

Sections of the St Lucian society have responded to last week`s revelation by the Office of the Prime Minister regarding the unemployment rate on the island. According to a press release from the OPM , the unemployment rate for 2023 was 14% , while the figure for the previous year was 16.5%.The rate of unemployment in 2021 was 9%. The decline is being attributed to a number of major projects , including the Sandals La Toc expansion and upgrade ,the construction of Cabot Residences and the Cas-En-Bas Beach Resort.
