Cabinet minister Michael Gove and Andrea Leadsom have become the latest high-profile Tory MPs to announce they are standing down ahead of the July 4 election. As he joined a growing parliamentary exodus, Mr Gove praised Rishi Sunak for espousing “the very best virtues” of the Tory party but said “it is time to leave”.
