The UK government has ended talks on a free trade deal with Canada, after Ottawa declined to continue low-tariff access to its markets for some British goods including cheese and luxury cars. The two countries have been negotiating for almost two years as the UK sought a post-Brexit free trade agreement with Canada. Canada’s trade minister said its decision not to extend existing low-cost access to its markets was due to the “unwillingness” of the UK to offer something in return.
