Castara & Parlatuvier Upgrades
In a recent Tobago People’s Party (TPP) meeting held in Speyside, Political Leader and Area Representative Farley Augustine announced key infrastructural developments designed to empower residents in Castara and Parlatuvier. Addressing the crowd, Augustine emphasized that the administration’s projects are focused on community-wide access to resources rather than individual gain.
Augustine highlighted the completion of farm roads in Castara, a strategic move intended to mitigate ongoing land disputes by providing clear access to state lands for farming and housing. Additionally, the administration has installed functional toilet facilities at the Castara Public Cemetery to ensure residents can conduct burial rites with dignity.
The Political Leader also commended Natisha Charles-Pantin, Secretary for Food Security, Natural Resources, the Environment and Sustainable Development, for her swift action in operationalizing the Castara Fishing Depot. Augustine noted that while the facility had been locked away for years, Charles-Pantin’s intervention ensured it was opened and made functional for the fishing community in record time.
Turning to Parlatuvier, Augustine addressed the plumbing failures at a long-standing facility where pipes burst immediately upon connection. He pledged to completely re-plumb the building to ensure it becomes fully operational and safe for public use.
