During a recent Tobago People’s Party (TPP) campaign meeting in Speyside, Chief Secretary Farley Augustine highlighted a series of completed and ongoing development projects aimed at revitalizing the community of Charlotteville. Addressing the electorate ahead of the upcoming elections, Augustine detailed the administration’s specific efforts to improve infrastructure and social services in the northeastern region.

Key achievements outlined during the address included the construction of necessary retaining wall systems and the installation of lockers for local fishermen to support the fishing industry. Augustine also noted the implementation of a cocoa farming project and the installation of mooring buoys. Furthermore, he emphasized the resumption of construction on the community center and pavilion, signaling a renewed commitment to providing adequate public spaces for residents.

A significant portion of the presentation focused on social infrastructure for youth. Augustine announced that the Charlotteville Police Youth Club has secured a new, permanent home. He detailed how the administration reached out to the judiciary to repurpose the old, disused courthouse building. Once a site for magistrate court proceedings, the building had been closed for an extended period. It has now been cleaned and renovated to serve as the headquarters for the youth club, located directly opposite the library, transforming a dormant government asset into a center for community engagement.
