Triple Waterspouts Hit Spain
Residents of southeastern Spain witnessed a dramatic and rare weather event on December 28 as three waterspouts formed simultaneously off the coast of Murcia. The « triplet » vortexes were captured on video spinning beneath dark storm clouds, creating a spectacular yet menacing display over the Mediterranean Sea.
While the phenomenon began over water, the situation escalated when one of the spouts moved into the harbor, making landfall along the waterfront. The powerful winds tore through the area, causing significant damage to several commercial establishments. Footage from the aftermath shows shattered storefronts, including a local restaurant, with debris scattered across the promenade.
Emergency responders and local officials surveyed the destruction the following day. Despite the intensity of the storm and the structural damage inflicted on the coastal buildings, authorities have confirmed that luckily, no injuries were reported during the incident.
