The National Lotteries Control Board (NLCB) has confirmed the ‘soft launch’ of “Sunday Gaming” from February 8th, 2026, noting that participation by agents will be voluntary.

The NLCB explained that Sunday gaming already forms part of the local entertainment landscape, with casinos in Trinidad and Tobago currently operating on Sundays.

Speaking with TTT News, NLCB Chairman Ken Emrith said the initiative will be phased in through a soft rollout, allowing for careful implementation while extending regulated gaming services to an additional day. He emphasised that strong oversight and responsible gaming standards will remain in place.

According to the Board, the soft launch is intended to ensure operational readiness, consistent customer service, real-time monitoring and improvement, the availability of essential bill payment services, and increased revenue opportunities for NLCB agents.

The NLCB also underscored its commitment to responsible gaming and player protection, noting that gaming will continue to be suspended on all religious public holidays, in keeping with national observances and long-standing policy.

Chairman of TTT Limited, Michael Kerr, said the State enterprise is fully on board to broadcast the Sunday draws.

« The additional draws create opportunities for revenue, which are most welcome for TTT Limited. We are excited about continuing this mutually rewarding partnership. As you know, we have modern production facilities, outstanding engineering capacity, skilled employees, and unmatched broadcast reach, so we welcome this 100%. »

The NLCB said it remains committed to compliance, monitoring, and ongoing engagement with agents and other stakeholders.

With similar seven-day gaming systems already in place for more than a decade in Jamaica, the United States and Europe, the Board said the move brings Trinidad and Tobago in line with international standards.
