Volunteer Firefighter Andrew Pinder Describes the Hope that Kept Him Digging
The nation watched as Andrew Pinder and other volunteers toiled throughout Wednesday night and into the early morning hours of Thursday morning to attempt to rescue a man trapped under rubble at a construction site on Harold Road.
Though rescue efforts turned to retrieval efforts, Pinder continued to dig until the missing worker was uncovered, crushed under boulders and debris. The volunteer firefighter who hails from Abaco also assisted in Hurricane Dorian rescue efforts in 2019.
