Savita Singh Makes History As International Chutney Soca Monarch 2026

History was created at Skinner Park in San Fernando on Sunday night as Savita Singh was crowned International Chutney Soca Monarch 2026.
She is the first woman to win this title in the competition’s 31-year history and also won the title of this year’s Chutney Soca Queen.
In second place was Rani Rasika Dindial, who also was crowned the 2026 Traditional Monarch.
Lady Lava took the third spot, followed by 2025 Monarch Machel Montano in fourth place.
In a statement on Monday, organisers of the competition, Southex Limited, said Savita Singh walked away with a top score of 813 points from the nine judges. Rasika Dindial scored 673 points, and Lady Lava got 662 points. According to Southex, defending champion Machel Montano scored 651 points.
Southex noted that this was the first time the grand finals of the competition were held on a Sunday and that it attracted a large crowd.
