High-Grade Cannabis Worth TT$102 Million Seized
High-grade cannabis worth over TT$102 million has been seized by officers of the Central Division during a coordinated anti-narcotics operation yesterday afternoon.
The operation was conducted around 2 pm on Friday at Riverside Marina, Cacandee Road, Felicity.
During the exercise, officers, acting on intelligence, proceeded to the marina, where they observed a white Kia vehicle parked suspiciously between two moored vessels.
The tray of the vehicle was also observed to have been covered with a blue tarpaulin, which further aroused the suspicion of the officers.
A search of the vehicle’s tray resulted in the discovery of several multicoloured crocus bags, containing just over 900 kilogrammes of cannabis.
The drug has an estimated street value of TT$102 million.
One male suspect was arrested in connection with the find.
