CHASTANET URGES PROACTIVE TOURISM STRATEGY AMID GLOBAL UNCERTAINTY
Former Prime Minister Allen Chastanet is suggesting that with the right approach, Saint Lucia’s tourism industry can withstand the potential fallout from the ongoing war in the Middle East.
Chastanet, who also previously served as Tourism Minister, maintains that all is not lost for the hospitality sector, noting that the industry has historically rebounded quickly after crises. He pointed to the record recovery experienced following the containment of the COVID-19 pandemic as proof of the sector’s resilience.
The Parliamentary Leader of the Opposition has also offered his support to the administration of Prime Minister Philip J. Pierre, signaling a willingness to collaborate in addressing any tourism-related challenges that may arise.
