Firefighters Respond As Bushfires Intensify In Northern Range
4 hours ago
As bushfire season intensifies with the latest fire incidents in the Northern Range on Wednesday, staying prepared is vital.
The Trinidad and Tobago Fire Service is actively responding to contain and manage the current fires.
TTT News contacted Fire Sub-Officer Jude Rogers, who is part of the team working to bring the blazes under control.
He said firefighters remain on the ground assessing the situation and coordinating efforts to contain the fires. Mr. Rogers added that a comprehensive report will be issued once officers have gathered and compiled all the data from the ongoing emergency response.
The update comes just weeks after the Ministry of Rural Development and Local Government hosted the 2026 Bushfire Conference, titled “Stop the Burn,” which focused on strengthening response capacity and improving coordination among agencies during the Dry Season.
Meanwhile, the Environmental Management Authority has also been supporting fire response efforts through training and the provision of equipment and protective gear for forestry officers and other stakeholders.
