U.K. LINKS VISA RULE TO ASYLUM CLAIMS VIA CIP
A letter from authorities in the United Kingdom to Prime Minister Philip J. Pierre states that an increase in asylum seekers entering the country through Saint Lucia’s Citizenship by Investment Program (CIP) is a key factor behind the new visa restrictions imposed on Saint Lucian travelers.
While the Prime Minister insists the multi-million-dollar program will not be scrapped, he confirmed that U.K. officials are expected on the island this week to discuss the concerns and address the recent changes affecting travel between the two countries.
