Doctors in Dismay: “We are Being Effectively Mistreated by NHI.”
Dr. Ian Kelly on behalf of the Physicians Provider Association is calling for greater physician representation in the National Health Insurance Authority.
In a March 9, 2026 letter to Prime Minister Philip Davis, the group (representing 40+ physician provider groups serving over 80,000 Bahamians) requested formal recognition and a meeting to discuss doctors’ role in decisions affecting NHI.
Physicians say they support the program but want a stronger voice in how it is managed.
