Cabinet has approved $1.3 million in grant funding for Eid-ul-Fitr celebrations, expanding State support to 22 Muslim and Islamic organisations across Trinidad and Tobago.
This was revealed by Minister of Land and Legal Affairs, Saddam Hosein, who said the allocation marks a clear increase over 2025, when 12 groups shared $1 million.
He said the grants will support Eid activities nationwide ahead of the holiday.
« So with our Cabinet, this new UNC Cabinet, more groups are benefiting and we have allocated more monies to these groups. There will be equitable and wider reach of this money so that various Jamaats, various associations, various NGOs, various groups throughout the country will be able to host their Eid-ul-Fitr celebrations so that all can enjoy and in particular those who may be very needy. »
