President Highlights Courage And Legacy Of Spiritual Baptists
President Christine Kangaloo said the Spiritual Baptist community exemplifies courage even in the face of injustice, fear and discrimination.
In her message to the nation in commemoration of Spiritual Baptist Liberation Day, President Kangaloo acknowledged the community’s powerful struggle towards freedom, a freedom she said we must never take for granted.
The President noted that the example of the Spiritual Baptists remains important as they teach us that freedom requires courage, that dignity must be defended, and that rights have meaning only when people are prepared to stand for them.
President Kangaloo offered her deepest respect and gratitude to the Spiritual Baptist community on behalf of the nation.
