Police Officer Critical After Shooting In La Romaine
A police officer remains in critical condition after being shot during an incident in La Romaine on Friday night.
Police said PC Alex Koon Koon was shot around 10:50pm while responding to a report of an armed man along La Plaisance Road.
As he exited a marked police vehicle, gunshots were heard and a suspect fled the scene.
The officer suffered a gunshot wound to the abdomen, and was taken to hospital where he underwent surgery.
Police said three people are in custody assisting with investigations.
Deputy Commissioner Suzette Martin described the shooting as an attack on the Police Service and said all leads are being pursued.
