COMMUNITY DRIVE AGAINST GIANT AFRICAN SNAIL
6 hours ago
The Tobago House of Assembly’s Division of Food Security, Natural Resources, the Environment and Sustainable Development is taking a proactive approach to a growing ecological concern- the Giant African Snail. The division has launched an extensive eradication programme, with a schedule of activities planned for various communities across the island.
The initiative, which runs from August 18th to August 22nd, will see eradication teams working in several areas affected by the snails.
The public is urged to check the official schedule to see when the teams will be in their neighbourhood. Beyond the scheduled work, the Division of Food Security is also calling on residents to volunteer alongside the eradication teams. Those interested in assisting are advised to come prepared with closed-toe footwear and a torchlight.
