The Ministry of Education is reporting a smooth and successful start to Term III of the 2025/2026 academic year, with schools reopening on schedule across the early childhood, primary and secondary levels.
It said teaching and learning resumed nationwide without major disruption, as Form 5 and Form 6 students prepare for upcoming CSEC and CAPE examinations.
In preparation for those exams, the Ministry said it completed 79 minor and 16 emergency repairs during the Easter vacation period.
As part of efforts to boost student performance, particularly in Mathematics, the Ministry said it has expanded its AI-powered academic support programme, giving Form 5 students round-the-clock access to digital tutoring with guided practice and instant feedback.
Education Minister Dr. Michael Dowlath praised the smooth reopening, saying it showed what was possible when all stakeholders work together.
The Ministry also noted that student support services, school supervision and district-level monitoring remain fully active as Term III continues.
No issues were also reported in Tobago as students returned to classes after the Easter vacation.
At the launch of the e-CARE initiative in Signal Hill, Orlando Kerr said his monitoring indicates school reopenings proceeded smoothly.
With fifth- and sixth-form students sitting CSEC and CAPE examinations during this term, Secretary Kerr remains confident in Tobago teachers’ ability to adequately prepare their students.
