Black gold on the horizon?
Energy Minister Daryl Vaz says Jamaica could begin drilling for oil off St. Thomas within the next two years following encouraging geo-chemical survey results.
He’s urging caution, however, noting that while early findings are promising, further work is needed before any drilling begins. The minister also revealed that several companies have already reached out to United Oil & Gas after the results were announced at the post-Cabinet press briefing.
