Police have released the names of three of the four suspects who were fatally shot in separate violent confrontations with police following a home invasion on Saturday.

The deceased individuals have been identified as Mikhail Guiseppe of Cocorite, Davion Guiseppe of Cunupia, Kevin John, and another male whose identity is yet to be established.

The TTPS said this comes after a coordinated multi-agency operation on Saturday, in which they successfully disrupted the “Tall Boots Crew,” believed to be linked to approximately 24 reported home invasion incidents across Cunupia, Las Lomas, Chaguanas, Freeport and Longdenville districts in the past several weeks.

The TTPS said as a result of the operation, those four suspects were fatally wounded, while two suspects have been detained.

Meanwhile, in a separate incident, a Point Fortin man is facing multiple charges, including assaulting a police officer after a car accident on Sunday.

Around 3am, police were called to the scene of an accident along the Point Fortin Main Road involving a gold Nissan Tiida.

The driver’s insurance was invalid and police smelled alcohol on his breath.

They cautioned him and asked him to submit to a breathalyser test, but he became irate and began shouting and using obscene language.

When told he was being arrested for using obscene language, the man tried to escape the officer’s grasp and a struggle ensued.

He was arrested and a breathalyser test confirmed he was over the legal limit.

He was taken to the police station where he became violent and hit an officer in the chest and dragged two officers to the ground.

The man was subdued and charged with several offences.

Acting Sergeant Alcala of the Point Fortin Police Station is continuing enquiries.
