TTPS ROLLS OUT SECURITY STRATEGY FOR CPL MATCHES

The Trinidad and Tobago Police Service is implementing comprehensive security measures for the five Caribbean Premier League (CPL) home games, which commence tomorrow, Wednesday, August 27.
At a media briefing on Tuesday, ACP Wayne Mystar said multiple branches of the TTPS will be mobilised for the event. These include specialised units, traffic management teams, crowd control officers, and aerial support, all aimed at ensuring the matches run safely and smoothly for fans.
ACP Mystar explained that police officers will be strategically positioned both inside and outside the Brian Lara Cricket Academy to maintain order.
He encouraged fans to arrive well in advance, noting that stadium gates would open three hours before each game to allow sufficient time for security screening and a smooth entry process. He advised that public parking at the venue will be limited to the northern side of the stadium. While vehicles will not be towed, he cautioned that parking along the highway shoulder or in unauthorised areas will not be permitted.
The Brian Lara Cricket Academy will host the Trinbago Knight Riders’ first home clash of the CPL season on Wednesday. Their opening fixture is scheduled for a 7 p.m. start against the Antigua and Barbuda Falcons, the first of five matches to be played at that venue.
