Nursing Council Pledges Swift Review Of COSTAATT Programme

The Nursing Council of Trinidad and Tobago says it is reviewing submissions from the College of Science, Technology and Applied Arts of Trinidad and Tobago (COSTAATT) for approval of its Advanced Certificate in Nursing Assistant Programme.
Last week, students waiting to gain entry into the programme, scheduled to begin on the first day of the new school term, were told that they were being de-registered.
COSTAATT’s President, Dr. Keith Nurse, and his executive met on Monday with both the Nursing and Accreditation Councils of Trinidad and Tobago to resolve the issue.
COSTAATT confirmed the programme proposal was submitted to both the ACTT and the Nursing Council in February 2024. The programme approval was granted by the ACTT in November 2024.
COSTAATT said it submitted all required curriculum documentation and several revised versions to the Nursing Council, based on feedback from the Council.
The Nursing Council gave COSTAATT the assurance it will continue to review the submissions and hopes to conclude the matter as soon as possible.
