STATE FUNERAL HELD FOR FALLEN K9 OFFICER TYSON
A state funeral was held on Wednesday in honour of K9 Constable 642 Tyson, who met his untimely demise on June 26, 2025. Gifted to the Royal Saint Lucia Police Force by the French government, Tyson played a vital role in several successful operations, helping to intercept illegal weapons, ammunition, narcotics, and undocumented migration. His sharp instincts and discipline not only elevated the standing of the K9 Unit but also helped restore public confidence in the police force. The tragedy has also raised fresh concerns about the safety of the remaining K9 officer still serving in the specialized unit.
