DIAMOND IN THE DIRT [2ND OCTOBER 2025] – One of Saint Lucia’s most dedicated folk musicians is voicing fears that the island’s unique traditional music may go extinct if the education system does not make efforts to teach it to younger generations. As master banjo and violin players age out and pass away, Augustin Charlie Julian is calling for Saint Lucians to appreciate and learn this valuable part of their traditional culture before it is too late.
