Abaco Hurricane Shelter Officially Handed Over to the Community
Nearly five years after ground was first broken, the new Abaco Hurricane Shelter and Community Center has been officially handed over to residents. The 10,000 sq. ft. facility, built through global partnerships, can house 200 people during disasters. Officials say furniture is still on the way, but residents now have a long-awaited safe haven.
