PM Orders Mandatory Evacuation Ahead of Hurricane Melissa
Prime Minister Philip Davis has declared mandatory evacuations for Acklins, Crooked Island and Long Cay, Inagua, Mayaguana, and Ragged Island. The order takes effect October 27th and will remain in force until November 1st, unless lifted earlier. Residents are directed to move immediately to unaffected islands, either in designated shelters or private accommodations, as officials warn of severe flooding and storm surge risks from Hurricane Melissa.
